While answering all of these questions, you should also compare the bandwidth limits, encryption types, and how many servers they have. The price will also come into play, as will customer service. Look at each of the features each VPN provider has in order to understand which one applies the best to the situation you are currently in.

Does Torguard Work With Netflix?

Torguard is blocked by Netflix, however, you are able to unblock it.  This can be done by purchasing an additional dedicated Streaming IP address from Torguard, which is currently priced at just under $8 per month.  This will allow Torguard to work with not only Netflix, but also Hulu, BBC iPlayer, and Amazon video.

When tested, we found that this additional service did not always work on all servers.  The ones that had issues were the Netherlands, Canada, Dallas (U.S.), and the United Kingdom.  This service is not refundable, so if you purchase it and one or more of the servers do not work, you are out of luck.

Does Torguard Work With Amazon Prime?

Yes, Torguard will work with Amazon Prime.  However, you will need to purchase the streaming IP.  As noted above in the Netflix section, this is an additional charge of just under $8.

Once you have purchased this streaming IP, you are allowed to install the Torguard app on your Amazon device.  Your streaming IP can then be entered so you can have access to whatever content you desire.

You will also notice that Torguard works with many Amazon devices.  These include various FIRE HD versions, Fire phone, Kindle Fire Versions, Fire TV, and much more!

Features of the TorGuard VPN

When you connect to the proxy service, it is possible to choose any server depending on your requirement or location.

The VPN can be used on 5 devices at the same time on a single account. This can help you to make all your devices secure, whether it comes to your desktop or your mobile devices.

No traffic logs are stored by TorGuard VPN.

The VPN has good security features. It is integrated with a kill switch that keeps browsing identity and data protected whenever the connection drops.

The kill switch ensures that you are always anonymous and never exposed in case the IP proxy suffers a failure.

The VPN also uses TSL and a robust 256-bit encryption. With this VPN, you can hide your IP address and keep your data safe from malicious users. It is possible to choose from as many as 20,000+ IP addresses.

You can get assistance from the customer support staffs when it comes to getting answers for questions about security issues.

Pros of Torguard

This VPN service offers support to PPTP, L2TP and OpenVPN protocols, as well as provides customers with socks5 torrent proxy services. Both TCP/UDP connection options are offered by the OpenVPN service on various ports. The OpenVPN service is configured to be operable in nations such as UAE, Syria, Iran and China where the government filters ports and VPN protocols severely by ISPs.

TorGuard offers a number of VPN encryption options, such as:

  1. No encryption— None
  2. Blowfish (128bit) CBC mode— Blowfish
  3. Advanced Encryption Standard (256bit) CBC mode — AES-256
  4. Advanced Encryption Standard (128bit) CBC mode— AES-128

The AES-256 is the default encryption used by the TorGuard VPN service. It can cause, as mentioned by the agency itself, a little loss in speed for some users. The ‘None’ option users will find their IP address concealed and their own login information still encrypted.

The VPN service works with almost every major operating system today, which includes:

There are detailed guides to get started with each platform. You can get official support for pfsense firewalls, Tomato, DDWRT and other VPN routers.

A peek into the downloads page of the service shows that the agency provides users with proxy extensions for Chrome, Firefox and other Web browsers and even a Router Setup Tool for Debian Linux, Mac and Windows.

Up to 5 Simultaneous Connections

The company lets customers use 5 connections simultaneously on every account. Thus, you can use the same VPN service on your smartphone, tablet, laptop, desktop or some other device at the same time. If you want more, it is possible to add more devices or connections for a dollar each per month from the account that you have.

The VPN service has stealth connections to bypass firewalls, a feature that is a part of every VPN plan of TorGuard. The VPN software also consists of a malware blocker and an ad-blocker that you can toggle on or off.

There are specific servers that have been optimized only for torrent downloads. This helps keep the other servers free for users to stream or browse faster.

Many P2P Options with TorGuard

There are many P2P options available for subscribers. There is a basic proxy service comprising of two hundred serves in 8 nations – which is offered to subscribers who do not require a full VPN service. Although it does not offer the same security as a VPN, it can help you unblock P2P file-sharing and geo-restricted content.

There is an anonymous email service available from TorGuard with 4 varied plans. The free plan gives you offshore email storage of 10MB, which can be used on any operating system.

Cons of Torguard

The lack of a trial period is possibly the single biggest complain about this service, although many other VPN providers are on the same boat as TorGuard.

Verdict

All in all, TorGuard comes with some excellent solid features and boasts of impressive app support. It has servers in various locations across the world, and boasts of amazing speed, service and security. Recommended!
